Welcome to Niles West High School! 

Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois opened in 1959 and is one of the premier high schools in the Chicagoland area. It is included in the 2019 US News & World Report’s Top 50 Illinois high schools. Niles West High School, along with Niles North High School in Skokie, is proud to be part of the Niles Township High School District 219 family, led by Superintendent Dr. Steven T. Isoye. 

There are approximately 2500 students at Niles West, who speak 54 different languages at home and come from 64 different countries. The diverse school demographics attract many families to the Niles Township community, which welcomes and embraces people from all cultures and backgrounds.

We at Niles West believe in providing students with an equitable, student-focused learning environment where every student graduates prepared for college and/or career success. All students have the right to ambitious instruction and a rigorous education. We offer more than 250 courses, ranging from Advanced Placement to tutoring opportunities, and hundreds of athletic and extracurricular activities. There is something for everyone at Niles West! 

Students and teachers at Niles West have been recipients of many awards, recognitions, and accolades, including teachers receiving National Board Certification, students earning millions of dollars in scholarships, and our most recent success of the Niles West Boys’ Gymnastics Team earning 2nd place in the State Championships! Go Wolves!
