Students, Parents & Guardians, Staff, and Community Members,
It is with heavy hearts that we have watched the world events of the past several days. First, we saw the country of Haiti experience a devastating 7.2 magnitude earthquake where thousands have lost their lives, are missing and displaced. Next, we have witnessed the events surrounding the people of Afghanistan who now find themselves in the midst of a government collapse and uncertain future.
We recognize that our district is a global one. Therefore, we want our students, our families, our staff, and our community members, who are connected to those in both Haiti and Afghanistan, to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time.
We also extend our gratitude to the brave First Responders and to those serving our country. We honor their sacrifice and that of their families.
If students need more specific support, please know that our Student Services departments at both Niles North and Niles West have excellent teams of Counselors, Social Workers, and Psychologists who are available to assist. For any questions or concerns, please contact the following Administrators who oversee our Student Services departments:
For our staff who may need support at this time, visit the iVisions portal for the link to our EAP provider’s site. If you have any questions or concerns please contact:
Respectfully submitted,
The D219 Superintendent’s Cabinet
