Dear D219 Parents/Guardians, Students and Staff Members,
As you may know, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced yesterday that anyone who is fully vaccinated may, with exceptions, participate in indoor and outdoor activities without wearing a mask or physical distancing. The exceptions require wearing masks while on buses, trains, planes and public transportation.
We are awaiting direction and guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and Village of Skokie Department of Health and Human Services regarding this significant change and how we may implement it in a school setting. Given that, coupled with the fact that we have no way of knowing who on our campuses has been vaccinated, masks will still be required for everyone on our campuses, including students, staff, parents and visitors. Once we receive further direction from IDPH, ISBE and Skokie Health, we will evaluate and adjust our practices as warranted.
As we wrap up this 2020-21 school year, we look forward to keeping our students, their families and our staff members safe, as we have been able to do all year. Thank you for your continuing support and patience!
