Welcome message from D219 Superintendent

Dr. Steven Isoye

Welcome to the Niles Township High School District 219 website. I hope you can take the time to explore our district and schools. The district has two high schools, Niles North High School and Niles West High School, and one alternative school, Niles Central High School. Our schools serve over 4600 students who represent countries from around the world, with more than 70 different languages spoken in their homes.

Our district focuses on career readiness, where students begin to pursue possible career interests. Embedded in the curriculum of the career strands, students can take a wide array of electives to begin to develop their thoughts about post-secondary plans after high school. This work allows for transition planning from high school into the future.

Students may also choose to participate in student life on campus through a large offering of extracurricular and co-curricular offerings. There are more than 30 different sports and 90 different clubs at each campus. In addition to athletics and activities, our departments host a variety of competitive academic teams, along with fine and applied arts programming.

We are proud to have recently acquired a building in Lincolnwood that will be renovated into a facility to provide job training and life skills to our students in our Bridges program. This facility is being developed as we speak and will provide state-of-the-art resources to support our transitioning adults with special needs.

The Board of Education recently approved the goals and priorities for our new strategic plan. We are now in the midst of finalizing the action steps. The beauty of the plan is based on the district’s focus on equity and its intent to eliminate the predictability of student achievement, based on the current systems in place. Each priority is embedded with specific goals to further our work with students

We appreciate the continued support of our communities: Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, Niles, and Skokie. Their support for education allows the district to continue to provide an incredible education for our students.

Thank you for visiting our website.
